Thus making their Verizon wireless broadband service available to 60 different markets. This new Verizon Wireless service price is available to customers who subscribe to the Verizon Wireless voice plan with a 2 year contract.
Analysts are surprised by this surprising move by Verizon Wireless because their competitors have just began offering a service that comparable to their wireless broadband services. Verizon Wireless is making it seem like there is a price war when there is no one competing against them.
Verizon Wireless may be fine for now with little competition, however, competing technology mainly wifi may cause Verizon Wireless to slash price greatly. Many cities are building Wi-Fi networks allowing users to connect to the internet whereever they go.
However, Sprint Nextel Wireless and Cingular Wireless are in the lines to becoming a great competitor against Verizon Wireless. Recently, Sprint Wireless announce that it will begin providing its wireless broadband service and will be in 60 different metropolitan areas by the end of 2005.
Cingular Wireless is also planning to offer a high speed wireless service called UMTS. This are said to deploy by the end of 2006 and will be available to 100 top markets.
